Profile

Robin is a pro-active programme and project director, with an in-depth knowledge of the public sector and major procurement and delivery gained over the last 30 years.  He is an expert in the delivery of major projects and programmes and originally trained and qualified in complex mission critical systems engineering and software development before moving into supporting the Public Sector, Law Enforcement and Public Safety organisations with high-tech technology and systems delivery. He is currently Executive Director and Board member at Actica Consulting Ltd, a role he has held for nearly 18 years. Robin is also a UK Government approved Gateway Review Team Leader, High Risk Programme Reviewer and Team Member. He has supported assurance assignments over a 16 year period across Central Government, Health, Transport, Public Safety, Law Enforcement and Defence organisations. 

When not undertaking assurance reviews, Robin is leading teams supporting National Highways with High Tech Operational Technology Delivery, TETRA and Airwave operational delivery, supporting Public Safety Organisations with ICT delivery, and more recently this includes Scottish Fire & Rescue and the Metropolitan Police Service.

Specific to his involvement in TCCA and Mission Critical Communications, he has:

·        Had Engagement with the TCCA since 1998

·        Had Early engagement chairing oil & gas and utilities user groups and attending conferences

·        Worked closely with the TCCA CEOs on various items and presented on such topics around the world in 20 countries.

·        Member of the events committee since Jan 2015

·        Vice Chair then Chair of the strategic case group (2012 – 2016) presenting early broadband models

·        Member of CCBG since its inception, supporting various task groups / working groups

·        Future Tech Chair (2019 to date) providing horizon scanning outputs quarterly

·        Chair of ICCA judging Panel since Jan 2015

·        Winner of two awards – one in 2019, one in 2023
