Founder & Chair , Phoenix/Domestic Abuse Support Group

I am a leading firefighter with the London Fire Brigade, dedicated to protecting lives and supporting communities in high-pressure, emergency situations.

Alongside my operational role, I am the founder and chair of Phoenix, a domestic abuse support group committed to providing a safe space, advocacy, and practical assistance for those affected. This has grown into a network of over 250 ambassadors across the organisation, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting colleagues and driving meaningful change.

Through Phoenix, we have not only supported individuals but also influenced workplace culture and policy, introducing a dedicated domestic abuse policy, establishing safe paid leave, and implementing practical mechanisms to better protect and support staff. This work focuses on raising awareness, empowering survivors, and embedding compassion and understanding within both the fire service and the wider community. I also created a first-of-its-kind national forum for domestic abuse across all fire services, helping to connect organisations, share best practice, and drive consistent, sector-wide progress.

My career reflects a strong commitment not only to public safety, but also to creating lasting social impact, ensuring that support extends beyond emergency response and into the everyday wellbeing of those around me.
