Fay Tennet has over 25 years experience within the security arena.  She began her security career as a police officer attaining the rank of Chief Inspector in less than 15 years working across a wide range of disciplines including Homicide and Major Crime; Firearms Commander; Community policing and Crime Prevention; Public Order; Major Events; Crisis Management and Resilience; Strategic Control Room management.  Her leadership spans from small specialist teams to large operational teams of over 300.  Her policing experience spans both rural and urban geography as well as being seconded to the National Police Improvement Agency.  She was the Vice President of the British Association of Women in Policing and has an interest in diversity in the security realm.  In 2015 Fay joined the Houses of Parliament and was further promoted to Deputy Director of Security Operations bringing strategic leadership to a team of over 300 security staff providing 24/7 static, patrolling, command and control, search and screening. Fay was on duty the day of the fatal Terrorist Attack at Westminster Bridge and Parliament.  After 6 years at Parliament, Fay was recruited to join the Royal Household as Deputy Director of Security Liaison.  She worked closely with the Metropolitan Police (uniform and close protection) and the Home Office and her own team - the Royal Household specialist vetting and security team; access control, physical and technical security.  During her time at the Royal Household she was part of the challenges of Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee; the late Queen's funeral and 10 days of ceremonial activity followed by the King Charles and Queen Camilla’s Coronation.
