COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Report Fraud Goes Live Across the UK
A major milestone for policing and public protection went live this month as Report Fraud officially replaced Action Fraud as the UK’s national service for reporting cyber crime and fraud.

Developed by the City of London Police in partnership with the Home Office and the City of London Corporation, the new service is designed to make reporting easier, improve the quality of crime intelligence and deliver stronger support for victims.

What’s new?

Report Fraud introduces an integrated system built to strengthen how the UK responds to fraud, including:

  • A new reporting hub and contact centre for faster, simpler reporting.

  • A modern crime analysis system giving police clearer intelligence, quicker.

  • A dedicated victim service continuing specialist support.

Early testing shows reports are being analysed more quickly, enabling earlier action.

Why this matters

Fraud is now the UK’s most common crime type, placing growing pressure on policing, local authorities and partner agencies. Report Fraud makes reporting clearer and more accessible, gives victims better updates, and improves confidence in how cases are handled.

For policing, the new system delivers faster, higher-quality intelligence, enabling earlier disruption of criminal networks and more coordinated national action. By improving both reporting and intelligence flow, Report Fraud strengthens the UK’s wider resilience against cyber crime and fraud.

A national public launch will follow in January 2026 with a UK-wide communication campaign.
