The NHS developed the Ten Second Triage tool as a novel triage tool that could be used by all emergency service responders to prioritise multiple patients very rapidly, deliver life-saving interventions and create a shared understanding. The tool was adopted throughout the UK and has been embraced abroad. The effectiveness and rapidity of the tool has been highlighted from several incidents, exercises and field tests.
