The Home Office's Continued Development of Martyn's Law
Shaun Hipgrave, Director of Protect and Prepare within the Homeland Security Group at the Home Office, will provide an update on the rollout and regulatory preparations for the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law. The Act received Royal Assent in April 2025 and there is now an implementation period of at least 24 months from this date ahead of commencement. It will also touch on the continuing partnership between government, industry and the public to embed Martyn’s Law across the UK’s security landscape, including how venue security leads should integrate their plans for responding to terrorist attacks with emergency services and wider responders under JESIP.
