Developing a Life Cycle Model of Trauma Support

02 Jul 2026
Theatre 2
Mental Health & Wellbeing
In this session the panel will discuss the development of a holistic life cycle model for trauma support focused on prevention from joining to leaving and beyond. Discussions about trauma tend to be dominated by interventions leading to a narrative that suggests there is one solution to the problem rather than seeing the lived experience of emergency service staff as a systemic issue requiring a trauma informed response. Building from a foundation which clearly defines the employer's duty of care the panel will discuss opportunities to develop a whole system approach which embeds prevention into core activity from day one.
